Laying Tracks Into the Future

And there you were, anxiously awaiting news of my latest foray into insanity.

Yes, my friends, Mother Hen is officially chicken-less, having been pulled into the vortex that is my digital future, shedding the feathers of my past like so many dead leaves. In short, yours truly is, if any are unaware, a member of an entrepreneurial family. At the end of last year, four of us co-founded Go MetaRail, the Metaverse Travel & Exchange company, whose mission is to connect the virtual worlds (aka “metaverses”) that make up the greater Metaverse.

Yes, you are correct, the Metaverse does not yet exist. It is in varying stages of development, and, depending upon whom you ask, it won’t be fully operational for some time yet. But already the land is being bulldozed into place, plans are being drawn and infrastructure laid for this coming iteration of the internet, or at least a significant part of it. There are already thousands of “worlds” developing within tokenized communities (cryptocurrencies, blockchain), each setting the stage for its own version of the metaverse.

Go MetaRail intends to provide a means by which people can transfer from one space to the other without having to break immersion. This form of digital tourism will stimulate commerce and cross-chain activity, lowering the bar of entry for new users, and ensuring growth and diversity within this rapidly developing space. So, if you’ve read this far, you’re probably hearing something along the lines of “blah, blah, blah…” It’s ok. I get these expressions all the time. Don’t sweat it. I’ve been convinced of my own madness practically forever. I like to think about it as one of my superpowers.

Nevertheless, I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I find this new life and my responsibilities as co-founder and Chief Research Officer of Go MetaRail exciting and challenging. I’ve been learning things I never realized I needed to know.

Just don’t ask me to explain it all to you just yet.

So, long and short of things, I am closing down Mother Hen Diaries as such, and rebranding with the one character who has withstood the highs and lows of my whole adventure so far, the one who wakes me early and keeps me up at night, who sneaks into my thoughts at random moments and refuses to go away quietly. Mother Hen Diaries will henceforth be known as: My Inner Comedian: The life and times of an introverted extrovert.

All previously written short stories, fiction, photos and fun will remain on the site until such time I choose to remove them to publish elsewhere. Who knows? There may well be a short story anthology added to Amazon in future.

I thank you all for supporting my madcap adventures with wildlife, tame life, and home life here on this blog.

  1. Wow. I missed your older blog on the Metaverse. Well, sounds as if you’ve found your place. And it’s up and coming. The world technologies can’t stay the same. Nothing stays the same forever. Change is a given. Maybe we will see short stories on your blog, even Metaverse related. We need to learn more, keep up and move ahead. I’ve moved ahead and self-published a historical fiction on Amazon KDP. Working on a sequel. Best wishes for your success. 📚🎶 Christine

  2. My goodness! Sounds totally … meta! I clearly need to catch up with your recent doings. Will current followers of MHD automatically switch to the new site, or must I hit the follow button again?
