Some sort of haitus
For sweeping my corners
Free of detritus;
This unruly pile
Of crumpled receipts,
Empty water bottles,
Hastily scribbled lists –
Oh, LISTS!
Lists, unchecked, forgotten –
Half-formed ideas
Sketched in pencil shavings,
Promissory thoughts
Seeking quietus.

My body forced me to a break last week. I was so sick, I was in bed most of the week. And I feel so much better now. I think sometimes we get a lesson from our body. Take that break. Look after yourself! And I’ve nominated you for this award: https://amommasview.wordpress.com/2015/07/08/the-loyalty-of-a-dragon/

Aww thank you so very much for thinking of me! You are most kind… I am also pleased to learn you listened to your bod and gave it a much needed rest! I feel like I’m creaking like a garden gate these days with sore joints. Age sucks… Honestly, I would love to crawl into bed and not leave home for at least a week. But there is so very much that still needs doing….

Maybe that’s just what you need. But of course it’s not always an option…

Yes! This is what I seek. Great name for respite. I enjoyed your original thoughts which brought a tired smile (with intent of being very broad for this comedic post.) ‘Night, Dorreen!

You just inspired me to write about getting lost in between words….
Don’t ask how… but you did nethertheless 🙂
I love this poem. Its rhythm and meaning and its underlining feeling.
