It’s been a very, very strange Saturday. Surreal, even.
My daughter and her husband are off to Thailand to celebrate their ten year anniversary (yay!)… their youngest son was admitted to hospital with an asthma attack (BOO!) and is being looked after by the other set of grandparents. Hubby is working the weekend (which he almost never, ever does), and I have care of my eldest grandson for the moment. The two of us attended a circus today. As you do.
In the midst of all this craziness, Big Brother and I took some some time out and had a lovely ramble around the countryside during the closing hour of the day. The sun was glancing off everything and painting it gold against a leaden sky. It was so beautiful, I wanted to cry.
I snapped this photo while wandering through a field of feed corn… it pretty much paints the colour of my heart right now. I know Little Brother will be fine – we have been here many times with his asthma, and he is in the best of hands. But still…
God is good to paint beauty on a dark sky, as he paints it in my dark heart. I am so very grateful for each and every tiny blessing in my life, starting with breath.
Never take a single one for granted.

“…because he himself gives to all people life and breath and all things.” – Acts 17:25

Another blessing.: Big Brother against an epic sky. I love the bones of these boys… and every hair on their heads

Aww what a sweet thing to say! Believe me, I am plenty old! But I had Darling Daughter when I was just 20, and she had her first child at 21, so the math all adds up. 🙂 I’d like to say my wrinkle-free state is due to rarely seeing the sun in the past 20 years… haha! 🙂 You are so kind.
Our little man is perking up this morning, missing his brother, and hopefully will be home with his other awesome grandparents very soon! (They are our best friends, by the way…) The boys are always happiest when they are together. xx MH

What a beautiful boy and an awesome sunset up there. I can see how you could get all choked up with only that much in your mind let alone the rest of it. Here’s hoping for a wonderful beginning to the next week for you and your family.

Thank you so much, APR… I appreciate your sentiments. Big Brother had some pancakes this morning, so is feeling pretty cheerful. Little Bro is on the mend and has been downgraded. Hopefully home soon! 🙂 Darling Daughter just sent pictures from Thailand… it looks just like Jurassic Park… sans dinosaurs, of course. At least, I hope it is… haha! 🙂

Thank you, Cherity! My boys are incredibly photogenic. Even missing front teeth… 🙂 (This one modelled for a clothing company called Unruly Blue, sold in Selfridges…) As for the sunset… well, Jehovah knows what he is doing for sure…. what a sight!
